Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) sees itself as a quality university delivering quality education to quality students from the world over. The Xavier University came into being with the Government of Odisha passing the Xavier University Act in June 2006.
The Xavier University stands tall in its mission of inspiring future generation of students aspiring for excellent quality higher education. We offer a wide gamut of programs in Business Management, Human Resource Management, Rural Management, Sustainability Management, Communications, Computer Science & Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Humanities & Compassion Studies and Human Settlement. The University aims to fulfill its mission by continuing to introduce new programmes to groom visionary, competent, committed, compassionate and value-based leaders. It empowers the students with the knowledge, skills, and long-term vision that leads to innovation, service to society and growth. The University encourages the students to cultivate learning opportunities beyond the classroom, through various Student Forums. The academic programs are designed around a “learning by-doing” model that encourages extensive interaction with all components of the University’s ecosystem which serves as a starting point for evolving leadership philosophy and resilient business practices. Apart from academic activities, the co-curricular activities, sports, cultural and community activities, form important parts of the life of the students.
In its endeavor to take up the tasks which are bold but necessary and which hitherto nobody has taken up, the Xavier City Campus of the Xavier University was inaugurated on July 7, 2007. Presently it hosts eleven schools offering Doctoral, Masters and Under-graduate programmes. History was made in October 1987 with the establishment of XIMB (Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar), Xavier University’s flagship management institute which, over the past 33 years has been recognized as a premier Business School in the country. It aspires to lead the country in management education by focusing on research and innovation. Our intellectual capital rankings have been in the top five in the country consistently.
The University hosts a unique course of study – the Xavier School of Sustainability Management (XSOS), the first of its kind in the country and among the very few in the world. XSOS stands testament to Xavier’s commitment to giving back to the country and the world through continuous innovation. The University’s Xavier School of Communications (XCOMM) is the first state of the art, high-quality media school in the State of Odisha. The Xavier School of Commerce, Xavier School of Law, Economics, Government and Public affairs and Computer Science and Engineering, as well as other career-oriented courses, is an educational initiative to provide holistic and integral career-oriented undergraduate as well as postgraduate programs, fostered in a spirit of academic excellence.

Establishment of XIMB

Xavier School of Human Resource Management
The Xavier School of Human Resource Management owes its origin to the HR specialization of the flagship premier b-School XIMB, grooming HR professions since 1987. It became a separate School under Xavier University from June 2011.2014

The Xavier School of Rural Management is the second-oldest in the country. The Post-graduate program in Rural Management commenced in the year 1995 as a part of XIMB. The Xavier School of Rural Management became a separate school under Xavier University from June 2014.2014
